Electronics Technology
Introduction:

ELectronics Technology

The Electronics Technology Program at Mountain View College (MVC) prepares students as entry level electronic technicians. Students enrolled in the program have a variety of program options including networking (Microsoft or Cisco), computer maintenance and repair, and industrial electronics.

Facilities and Faculty

The Electronics Technology Program has two state of the art electonic labs. One lab is primarily for industrial electronics while the other is a general purpose lab. The general purpose lab has been updated with all new equipment.

Classes are limited in size (10-12 students) so that students can get individual attention from the instructor.  All instructors in the electronics program have advanced degrees with many years teaching and working experience.

Job Opportunities:

The job opportunities in the electronics fields have grown considerably in the last few years.  There are many companies in the DFW area that employ graduates from the MVC Electronics Technology Program including companies such as TU Electric, Southwestern Bell, and Texas Instruments. Many companies that employ electronic technicians are facing the "graying" of their workforce and are in need of replacements so the demand for technicians should be good for the foreseeable future.
