Networking Program Information

Introduction:

The Mountain View College (MVC) Microsoft Certification Program began in 1999 as a program to train students to become entry level Microsoft network administrators.  Over the years the program has grown to include two modern computer labs that employ the latest Microsoft technologies.

The certification program at MVC is sanctioned by Microsoft as an IT Academy.  As an IT Academy all instructors have to meet a minimum requirement as a Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP). The instructors at MVC more than exceed the minimum requirements and are Microsoft Certified Systems Engineers (MCSE) as well as Microsoft Certified Trainers (MCT).  Also, all instructors have degrees and many years experience working in the networking and computer areas.

As a Microsoft IT Academy students can enjoy many extra benefits. Click on the link to access the IT Academy website to see the many benefits you can have.  (Access Microsoft IT Academy

Job Opportunities:

Students who complete the program successfully can find opportunities as technical support specialists, help-desk technicians, network administrators, and computer systems administrators.

The job opportunities in IT (Information Technology) have grown considerably over the last few years.   The Bureau of Labor Statistics predict a growing need for IT administrators (Access Bureau of Labor Statistics) and Monster.com lists many pages of jobs in the DFW area as well as opportunities in other parts of the country.
